welcome

I decided i should start making music one could consider as experimental.

demos

i call them demos but it's mostly just experimentation.
i don't have the hardware (yet) to record in good quality

Audio LinkDescription
demo 001 first vcv rack recording. experimenting with drums
demo 002 volca sample test
demo 003 trying some glitchy effects with gba boot screen sfx as sample
demo 004 cool polyphonic synth thing i made
demo 005 doing more actual stuff. this one is more interesting than the previous stuff
demo 006 simple techno to test my microfreak
demo 007 "ooo [...] it's very atmospheric" - my gf
demo 008 weird psytrance jam i've done with my volca sample. i am not very satisfied of the result but was still fun to play.

audiomangle

audiomangle is an old project i've done a while ago where i would mash together music files from my library. many iterations have been created. some are good, some are stinky. it was done using a small python script i've created. bpm could be set to configure the rate of change. the script would take small samples at random timecodes from the songs and concatenate them in a single audio file.

this is a rather interesting project i have completely forgot about and i think this is a cool way to procedurally general noise. the tool could be worth rewriting to allow more controlled randomness and make it an actually good procedural noise making tool to use in my tracks.

IterationsDescription
first iteration. quite interesting as it was a test iteration to ensure the script was working. various songs from ZUTOMAYO, Kobaryo and this album
first actual experiment, mixed songs i liked at the time. it sounded very inconsistent and not very interesting. to quote myself from 2022: "Unconsistent, garbage."

the entire list of artists in the playlist is mentioned in the notes i took
blended various metal bands that were in my playlist. it includes 80s metal from bands like metalica or megadeth, nu-metal like system of a down, and more industrial stuff like THE MAD CAPSULE MARKETS.

2022 me says it's pretty good, i haven't found it to be that cool to listen again.
a bunch of breakcore, stuff with rather weird and very electronic noises and various hardcore music have been mixed. probably the most interesting iteration of the whole experiment.
